On April 16 2025, I headed down to San Francisco, California to the Regency Ballroom. The event du jour was Arch Enemy and for support they had with them Thrown into Exile, Baest and Fit For An Autopsy. This was an epic show although it was a bit hectic but we managed.
Thrown into Exile was the first band to perform. I arrived just before 7:00 PM and heard them playing. They had started early, at 6:30, so I only caught the last two songs. However, they were impressive! I came in during “Eternal Nothingness”, and the band had the audience whipped into a frenzy with their music. The energetic set concluded with “You’ve Fallen So Far”.

When Baest took the stage, the audience was fully engaged. This high-energy band began their set with “Ecclesia”, an impressive song that lasted almost eight minutes. It’s a great achievement for a metal band to perform such a lengthy piece live, and they executed it flawlessly. Next up was “Misfortunate Son”, which rocked the crowd.
As they continued with the set, the band was on point, and the audience was clearly enjoying every moment. Following that was “Imp of the Perverse”, and the entire crowd sang along passionately.
The final song of the night was “Necro Sapiens”, which resonated deeply with many attendees.

Fit For An Autopsy was up next, and they kept the crowd thriving at a high energy level. They began with “Lower Purpose”, a song that resonated powerfully throughout the audience. Next was “Red Horizon”, which started off slower but gradually built up momentum, perfectly syncing with the beat. They followed this with “Warfare” and “Hostage”, both stellar tracks that maintained the lively pace.
Just before launching into “Pandora,” the lead singer encouraged the crowd to create a circle pit, and San Francisco responded enthusiastically. The pit erupted with moshing fans, showcasing their energy. After that, they played “The Sea of Tragic Beasts”, followed by “Savior of None / Ashes of All”. Every song they performed was executed flawlessly.
The final song of their set was “Far From Heaven”, which was a massive hit and well-crafted, leaving the crowd eager for more.

When Arch Enemy took the stage, the venue was packed, and the energy was electrifying. They kicked off the set with “Deceiver, Deceiver”, a strong choice that set the tone for the evening—no one familiar with the band would expect anything less. Following that, they played “Ravenous” and “Dream Stealer”, which kept the crowd engaged and the circle pit in full swing at the center of the room.
Next up was a track from their new album titled “Blood Dynasty”, which made a significant impact. They then transitioned into “War Eternal”, where the band truly rocked the crowd’s socks off. For “War Apocalypse”, they encouraged everyone to jump, creating a fantastic sight as fans leaped in unison.
After that explosive performance, they played “A Million Suns”, another song from their latest album, showcasing the band’s new direction, which was well-received. Then came “Liars & Thieves”, a single that originally surprised audiences in Europe before making it onto their album.
Continuing with the show, they performed “The Eagle Flies Alone” and “First Day in Hell”, both of which were delivered with incredible energy. This brought them to their first intermission, during which they played “Saturnine”, featuring a melodic chorus that seamlessly led into “As the Pages Burn”, a true powerhouse of a song.
They followed with “Sunset Over the Empire”, “No Gods, No Masters”, and “Dead Bury Their Dead”, all of which were fantastic tracks and perfect for moshing. Finally, “We Will Rise” began, and it was intended to be their last song of the night. But then came the ENCORE!
The encore started with “Avalanche”, an outstanding track, and continued with “Snow Bound”, which actively involved the crowd and played out beautifully. To close the evening, they performed “Nemesis”, a slower song that flowed perfectly into the final number, “Fields of Desolation”, What a way to end the show!
