Fozzy nails it at Goldfields – Roseville in Roseville California April 27, 2025

On April 27, 2025 I headed up to Roseville, California to Goldfield’s – Roseville to catch a show. The show for the evening was Fozzy with special guests The Nocturnal Affair and Liliac. The show was a ton of fun and if you missed it, you missed out big time.

The Nocturnal Affair kicked off the night with a captivating performance. Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, they began with a stunning drum solo before diving into an incredible cover of “It’s No Good” by Depeche Mode. They handled this powerful song with impressive ease.

Following that, they played “Down”, which was another standout track. Next up was “Unwound”, followed by their latest release, “Benefit of Doubt”. This song rocked so hard that it’s clear they will be headlining events in the near future.

They continued with “Interlude”, then transitioned into “BACKBITER”. Their next song, “Cross Me Out”, is currently in the top 30 on the rock charts, showcasing all the classic rock elements that fans love. Here’s hoping it makes it to the top ten!

The final song of the night was a reimagined cover of “What Is Love” by Haddaway, which got the entire crowd singing along as they delivered an electrifying performance.

Coming in from Los Angeles, California, via Atlanta, Georgia, Liliac is a family band made up entirely of siblings, which creates a fun dynamic. Paul Barnes Jr. is filling in on drums for this tour since their regular drummer is pregnant with the next generation.

The band kicked off their performance with “Human”, where they truly let loose and rocked the stage. Following that, they played “Delusion”, which transported everyone to a better place. The intensity continued with “Prisoner” and “Breathe”, both of which were performed with remarkable passion, leaving the audience mesmerized.

Next up was “Dear Father”, a song that hit hard and resonated deeply with the crowd. The energy ramped up even more with “Bad Boyz”, prompting the audience to sing along enthusiastically.

Their first cover of the night was “Seven Nation Army” by the White Stripes, which they executed flawlessly, earning a massive round of applause from the audience. They followed with “Not Afraid”, another intense track that kept the crowd engaged.

One of the highlights of the evening was Dio‘s “Holy Diver”, which sent the audience into a frenzy, becoming the song of the night for many. To conclude their set, they played “Carousel”, and the lead singer encouraged the crowd to sing loudly along. This well-written song captivated everyone in attendance. After rocking the stage, they left with a promise to return soon.

Fozzy was up next, and they were fantastic. From the very start, they had the entire crowd excited. They started their set with “Fall In Line,” which pumped everyone for more. “Bad Tattoo” touched on something many of us can relate to—having a bad tattoo. The crowd responded to that song in various ways.

As they played “Painless,” an incredible track, they jumped through the notes, keeping the audience fully engaged, and they knew it. They then delivered “Do You Want to Start A War” and “Lights Go Out,” shredding their set. Chris Jericho was outstanding as he worked the crowd, and the rest of the band kept pace like the professionals they are—even when he broke out a smoke gun during “Do You Want to Start A War.”

They performed “SOS,” a cover originally by ABBA, in an incredible rendition that pulled the audience in even more. With “Sane,” the crowd sang along, making the performance even more memorable. The next song, “I Still Burn,” opened with a very inspirational message: if you have a passion, go out and pursue it—nothing can stop you.

Following that were “Nowhere To Run” and “Spotlight,” two intense songs that they delivered effortlessly while the crowd fully indulged. “Army of One” came next, introduced by another stirring message: if you believe you can do something, go for it. The song emphasized that you are an army of one and capable of achieving your goals.

Next up was “Drinkin’ With Jesus,” a fun and energetic song they jammed through with flair. “Spider In My Mouth” was an insane powerhouse of a track that received loud applause from the crowd.

Then came “Purifier,” which rocked hard, and after that, it was time for their classic, “Enemy.” This song encapsulated all the feelings of the night. After a brief break, they returned to perform another classic, “Judas,” which thrilled the crowd.

The final song of the evening was “Eat the Rich,” and everyone was singing along and thrashing hard. The band showed the crowd the respect they deserved.

Fozzy is a band I’ve wanted to see for a while, and I’m glad I finally did. They are a strong, influential group that means what they say and says what they mean. It was truly a treat!
