The Offspring wows the crowd at the Toyota Amphitheater in Wheatland California August 31 2025

On Sunday August 31, 2025 I headed towards Wheatland, California and the Toyota Amphitheater. The nights show was The Offspring on their Supercharged tour featuring Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory.

The night kicked off with New Found Glory, starting strong with “Understatement”. The band was on fire right from the beginning, and jamming to that song was an absolute pleasure as everyone rocked out. They followed with “All Downhill From Here”, an impressive track featuring a banging bassline and powerful drums.

Next up was “Hit or Miss”, which was truly fantastic. The lead singer even made his way into the audience, where he hilariously snagged a French fry from someone in the crowd. They then played a new song titled “100%”, which will be featured on their upcoming album set to release next year. It was pure awesomeness!

The following two songs, “Failure’s Not Flattering” and “Dressed to Kill”, were both excellent and delivered with great energy. They then performed “Intro”, which was the first half of their final song. The second half, “My Friends Over You”, absolutely raged. The performance was so incredible that the crowd would be buzzing about it for days to come.

Jimmy Eat World took the stage next, starting their set with “Pain”. That song expressed exactly what we needed for the night: its chorus, “Take my pain away,” resonated deeply. They followed up with “Just Tonight…”, which hit hard with its driving drumbeat, getting everyone up and dancing; the crowd was clearly thrilled to hear it.

Next was “Let It Happen”, a dynamic track that rocked the entire venue, keeping the energy high. The subsequent songs, “Work” and “Blister”, were also spot on and well-received by the audience. Then came “Lucky Denver Mint”, and the band delivered an impressive performance.

After that, they played their patriotic anthem, “Bleed American”, celebrating what it means to be American. The momentum continued with “Big Casino”, “Something Loud”, and “A Praise Chorus”, all of which maintained the positive vibe throughout the crowd. The tone was fantastic, and the band was clearly riding the wave of excitement.

“Sweetness” followed, serving as a perfect ramp-up to the final song, “The Middle”. This was their biggest hit, featuring a solid guitar riff and singable lyrics; it was definitely the moment everyone had been waiting for. It was the ideal song to close out the night.

Before The Offspring hit the stage, they had an excellent intermission set, including a kiss cam, booty cam, and a crazed gorilla hitting the stands.

When they hit the stage, they started with the epic “Come Out And Play”. Many would have thought that song would be later in the set, but they chose it right off the bat. It was an excellent start to the set.

The next song was another banger called “All I Want”, a song about just that, all I want. They finished that song up and led it straight into “Want You Bad”. That song was upbeat, and the crowd loved it as they cranked through it.

The following two songs were “Looking Out For #1” off their Supercharged album, and “Staring at the Sun”. Both tracks were full of energy as they played them. “Original Prankster” was next, and it was rad as they jammed it out.

The following song was “Hammerhead”, and it was a joy to listen to. As they cranked out the tunes, they just got better (except the first song).

When they played “Leave It Behind”, it marked the first time since 2017 that they performed it, and they completely nailed it. It was a stellar performance for sure!

The next two songs were “Make It All Right” and “Bad Habit”. Both were phenomenal tracks, and the crowd was really enjoying them. A funny detail: Noodles claimed there were 1,315,225 people in the audience—a bit of an exaggeration, but according to him, it was a fact.

The following trio of songs featured Ozzy Osbourne classics: “Electric Funeral / Paranoid / Crazy Train”. The crowd went wild as they played these songs perfectly, and everyone in attendance had a great time.

Next, they performed Edvard Grieg‘s “In the Hall of the Mountain King”, followed by The Ramones‘ classic “I Wanna Be Sedated”, which they absolutely killed—in a good way! Then came “Gotta Get Away”, another classic hit that rocked the venue. Following that song was an insane drum solo that ended way too quickly.

The next two songs dealt with a theme of loss—not just the pain of a breakup, but a more permanent kind of loss. These songs were “Gone Away” and “Why Don’t You Get a Job?”—both held significant meaning for many of us. Then they launched into “Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)”, which rocked so hard and is definitely a favorite! The final song was meant to be “The Kids Aren’t Alright”, but after a short break, they surprised everyone with “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid”, another hit that truly rocked our socks off.

Ultimately, the actual final song was “Self Esteem”, which left us all in awe. It was the perfect way to end the night, and we all appreciated it.
